It is found in China, Disputed Territory, Hong Kong, North Korea, South Korea, Macau, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are open seas, shallow seas, subtidal aquatic beds, and coral reefs. It is threatened by habitat loss.
